Eye Makeup Tip: How to Have Smoky Eye

There is something about the smoky eye that sets it apart from other eye makeup. Many see it as sexier, and it creates a sense of mystery in every woman. Of course having the smoky eye look does not come that easy. Many women have tried creating it only to end up dissatisfied with the results. This is because certain steps exist and techniques in creating a beautiful smoky eye. Here are some instructions for doing just that:
1. Use lid primer
A smoky eye is like a painting. It means that regardless of how long your night will be everything needs to be in place so that no smear appears. This is very important since smears can turn your smoky eye look into a zombie eye look. To prevent smearing, use lid primer. It will ensure that your makeup will stay put through the night. Moreover, the primer will help blend the makeup in place.
2. Choose the right colors
Before you start, make sure that you have the same tone eye shadow. The key here is to use a similar tone. You do not need to wear black or brown all the time. You can use gray or plum or dark green. Just make sure that you use the same monochromatic tone and color. You will use the color by blending it in some areas of the lids while the rest will be used to create that dramatic look so you have a gradient inside of multicolored eye shadow.
3. Use concealer under the eyes
The first step to having a beautiful smoky eye is to hide any dark circles under your eye. Dark circles under your eye will make your eye appear tired. The mysterious and sexy look of smoky eyes will become overshadowed by the tired and sick eyes. To hide the dark circles, apply a concealer under your eyes and finish it off with translucent powder.
4. Create the right lines
The next step is creating good lines in your upper lashes and lower lashes. You may be doing this every time you wear makeup, but this time, make sure that the lines are more defined.
5. Apply your shadow
As you now have the line on your lids, go higher and apply medium shadow between the upper lids and the crease of your lids. After this, apply the softest color in between your crease and the brow. Once you are done with this, move to the corner of your eyes and apply the lightest shadow. Make a complete sweep from the middle of your lower eye to the outer corner. Lastly, apply another layer of liner on your upper lids and smudge them around the eyelids. Make sure that you smudge them only on the eyelids and not on the area near your eyebrows.
You can follow these steps even if you are wearing glasses or contact lenses. If you want a significant other to see your lovely eyes without glasses, you can visit Sugarland Eye & Laser Center, the leading LASIK or laser eye surgery center in Houston.
