The Right Eye Makeup for Glasses Wearers

Eyeglasses and makeup are usually not a good match. In fact, a lot of women who wear eyeglasses don’t wear makeup as they feel that their eyeglasses hide it. What many do not know is that even if you are wearing eyeglasses, you can still wear stunning makeup. Here are a few steps on how you can have the right eye makeup even if you are wearing eyeglasses.
Choose the right frame – The one thing that can really make a big difference between having stunning makeup and having unnoticeable makeup is your eyeglasses frame. The main thing to consider is your skin tone. Why? When you wear a pair of eyeglasses, it is like wearing makeup. The glasses will be a part of your face. As such, it should complement your skin tone in the same way that your foundation should also match your skin tone. If you fail to have this, your makeup will not have the right effects.
Aside from the color of the frame, you should also choose the frame that matches the shape of your face. This is very important because the frame of your eyeglasses can actually distract people from seeing your face and your makeup.
Consider your lenses – If you are nearsighted, the lenses of your glasses will make your eyes look smaller. As such, you eye makeup should be light on the inner part of your eyes. This will neutralize the effects of your eyeglasses. You should also use dark eye shadows in your lower lashes and ample eyeliner to make your eyes look rounder and bigger. If you are farsighted, the lenses of your glasses will make your eyes look bigger. As such, you should use eyeliner on the inner part of your eyes, but you will need to use lighter mascara to even out the effects of the lenses. You should also wear lighter shades of eye shadows so that your eyes will not be overly emphasized.
Remove the red marks – If you have red marks in your nose where your glasses sit, it means you are probably wearing a heavy pair. You might want to switch to a lightweight pair. If you still have the red marks after switching to a lighter pair, then it means you have very sensitive skin. If that is the case, you can use concealer to hide these red marks. You should also use oil-free makeup so that the red mark will not become irritated. So, throw away your makeup that’s not oil-free as it will only make your red marks redder and replace that makeup with oil-free, hypoallergenic brands.
