Did you ever wish for an eagle’s sight?

Having a hawk’s or eagle’s visual acuity lists as something that many people desire. But truth be told – it is impossible. An eagle’s head structure and placement of its eyes allow it to have a wider field of vision – which is almost 360 degrees. On the other hand, a human’s field of vision does not even touch an 180-degree span. An eagle’s vision is sharper – what a human can see sharply 5 feet away; an eagle can see even a hundred feet away. Eagles like several other birds of prey can see farther than humans as well. Though Houston Lasik excels in giving better vision, it cannot give humans eagle vision.
Why is an eagle’s sight better?
A retina coated with more light-capturing cells contributes to this sharp visual ability. It allows resolution of intricate details of a complex object with clarity. A well-evolved fovea, the part of the eye that detects light, is also part of the reason. Eagles also have superior ability to resolve colors. Their color vision is more vivid and detailed than humans. This aspect enables them to see even ultraviolet light.
More than two hundred thousand light-capturing cells exist on every square millimeter on the retinal surface. This is far ahead from the 1 million light-sensitive cells that humans have. Because of these innumerable sensory cells, their visual acuity of colors is very high. Although it has been known that they can detect ultraviolet light, eagles could also detect several other radiations from the invisible spectrum.
The structure of an eagle’s eye
The structure of this bird’s eye is enough to indicate how prominent its vision is. On the human head, the human eyes only occupy 5% space. But on an eagle’s head, its eyes take up 50% space. The shape of the eagle’s eye allows it to generate larger images. It is because the back of its eye is larger and flatter.
Night vision
For a bird that has astounding gifts of sight, it is surprising that its night vision is ordinary. That is why eagles do not hunt in the dark. Cones, the part of the eyes that is responsible for enabling them to detect and see more colors cannot help them during the night. It is the rods that enable night vision, but eagles have more cones than rods. So, it is common to not see an eagle at dusk or night. So here human eyesight beats eagle eyesight. Take heart if after an eye checkup at Houston Lasik clinic your eyes are less than perfect they are better than an eagle at night.
How to get an eagle vision
An eagle’s vision indicator ranks as a standard 20/4 compared to a human’s 20/20. While it is not possible to get this kind of vision, it is possible to at least get a move on existing eye conditions with good LASIK treatment. Visiting a Houston LASIK clinic for a laser eye surgery consultation is the first step forward. At a minimum, periodic tests and examinations are to be conducted. Improving vision starts with a quality consultation with an acclaimed eye doctor or clinic.
